Tank Lining/ Relining

introduction

Adrian Queally Ltd (AQL) has gained an industry-leading reputation for the quality and range of our work in installing flexible membrane liners for reservoirs and tanks both internally and externally for the drinking water and wastewater industry. We provide cost-effective, flexible and durable solutions. The systems and materials we use comply with best international standards. AQL seals new-build structures/tanks to protect from chemical corrosion, and provide a smooth, hygienic and tough finish which is suitable for contact with potable water. We also carry out lining system repairs and relining on tanks and reservoirs when a problem occurs with the existing structure or at pipework intrusions.

The systems and products we use are corrosion, chemical and abrasion resistant, and provide for smooth, glossy, easy to clean surfaces. As part of the lining works AQL prepares the surfaces so that they are smooth, and free from debris, loose or flaking material. AQL also ensures surfaces are free from contaminants such as oil, grease and dust. At all times we follow processes and procedures that are fully compliant with manufacturers’ instructions and guidelines. Thanks to these systems concrete is restored and protected for many years to come.

FAQs

Overtime, concrete and coatings begin to breakdown and begin to expose fresh concrete and aggregates. This can happen due to chemical reactions or the processes happening within the tank. If tanks are not lined or have damaged, exposed lining, concrete will degrade the longer it is left. If left untreated for long enough, rebar will begin to be exposed, holes formed and the general condition of concrete affected, leaving the structure potentially unstable. By applying correct linings this can be eliminated.

Surface preparation must first take place to allow for an optimal bonding surface. Project specific lining then takes place which can include build up layers to return cover to rebar, protective layers and DWI/ WRAS compliant coatings to allow for contact with drinking water.

In partnership with our manufacturers, AQL have developed system that can allow the coatings to be in contact with drinking water. This is due to using products that are compliant with regulations and have DWI/ WRAS approval.
