client objectives

Ensure the longevity and structural integrity of the filter beds Conduct essential concrete repairs to prevent further deterioration. Apply protective coatings for erosion resistance and long-term performance. Stop any leaks within the tanks Ensure compliance with potable water safety standards for internal surfaces. Ensure any changes are made to accommodate the new water treatment methods.

Scope of works

Surface Preparation Works – Due to an existing coating, all concrete surfaces had to be shot blasted to remove the coating and allow for a compatible bonding surface. All surfaces were then high pressure cleaned to remove dust and residue created by abrasive blasting. Concrete Build Up- All concrete surfaces received a build-up layer of cementitious mortar due to the concrete aggregates being exposed. This allowed for sufficient cover to be returned to the rebar, and an aesthetically pleasing, easy to clean surface. Crack Injection- All pipe penetrations within the tanks received resin crack injection to stop any water egress. Surface Protective Coatings- All concrete elements that have been eroded or damaged due to erosion were rectified and DWI approved coatings were applied to protect the concrete in the future.
